HERE'S A BLAST FROM THE PAST...
I've mentioned before that food photography wasn't really on my radar in terms of what inspires me from behind the lens. This is because ever since I can remember, I've been pointing my camera at subjects that are out here in the Bush. It makes sense, I grew up here and have been surrounded by the outback my whole life - meaning my subjects were limited to anything but.
Having spent a few good years focusing solely on food photography after discovering it in 2018, I discovered that there was a community of people out there that enjoyed the small portion of content I shared on my socials about life in the bush. This inspired me to capture my lifestyle again and as a result, accidentally threw me back into what drove my ambition into photography since the beginning.
This slight change in direction of what I capture and share has opened a lot of new and wonderful doors for me over the past few years. I've worked on projects that have far exceeded my wildest of dreams and I'm incredibly proud of some of the work I have created in the process.
I like to look at every photography opportunity that comes my way as a new learning experience - cliche I know - but very relevant. If we stop learning, we stop developing our craft and stop becoming inspired by it. Finding a happy medium between being proud of my work, but also open to learning to be better through experience and feedback alike, is something I value and strive to achieve over the coming years.
